It begins

I will never forget the day I got the call….. he was driving himself to the hospital because he was in SO MUCH PAIN!

I hurried there to find him doubled over in the ER.  He was sure it was on infection (you see PKD creates cysts on your kidneys – when these cysts burst, the get infected and OUCH)

They brought him in back and did all kinds of tests.  We waited hours.  The Dr. gave him an ultrasound…. we will never forget when he came in to give us the results.  The Dr. looked like he had lost his best friend…. He began by saying “I’m not sure how to tell you…. but…… you have umm mmmm ”  And at that point we looked confused and Timmy said to him, “PKD?”  The Dr. let out a sigh of relief and said, “you know?”  Timmy laughed and said, “Yes, I thought you were going to tell me I had cancer or something!  Gezzz… LOL”

So the laughter has begun!  We took on this PKD with all the laughter we could….

He was stuck in the hospital for 5 days with a kidney infection.  We prayed that this would NOT be the day he would have to go on dialysis.  Thank goodness it wasn’t!  He won for now!    Timmy 1   – PKD  Zero

  2. I can not even imagine the worry and the concern you all felt waiting to hear the doctor’s diagnosis. Your ability to laugh through this terrible ordeal speaks volumes of your strength.
